cPanel email going to spam? Here’s how to fix it.

Reasons why Emails go to Spam:-

– First, the reason your emails go to the junk folder can be related to the reputation of the IP address of your mail server.

The IP reputation relies on many factors such as the volume of sent emails, the content of the messages, bounced messages, messages sent to not-existing email boxes, and messages hitting spam traps. All that is used to calculate the reputation of your IP. Then mail servers decide where they will deliver the email message based on the IP reputation score.

– Another reason for delivering emails to the spam folder is the fact that your domain exists in the blacklist of the destination mail server.

Different ways of preventing emails from going to spam.

Configure SPF and DKIM DNS records

Your SPF record lets the recipient server perform this verification. The SPF record verifies that an email comes from authorized servers.

A Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) is another method of e-mail authentication. This method uses information about the domain which is published by the domain owner.

If there are no SPF or DKIM records defined, receiving mail servers will have worked with the assumption that the sender may be fake.

How to set SPF and DKIM records?

1 – Login to your cPanel >> Email Deliverability >> Manage.

3 – Click on the “Install suggested record”

You will see a confirmation message.

4 – This is all. You have all configured DKIM & SPF records for your domain.

ENABLE ANTI-SPAM SCAN IN OUTGOING EMAILS

This filter uses several high-quality algorithms to check if the incoming emails spammy links, text, images, etc.

We turn on this stringent spam checking on outgoing emails as well.

In that way, if a mail contains any chance of being tagged as spam by Gmail, Hotmail, etc., the mail won’t be sent.

How to enable outgoing mail spam scanning in WHM?

1 – Login to your WHM >> Exim Configuration Manager >> Apache Spam Assasin option.

2 – Now you can enable the option for “Scan outgoing messages for spam.

In this way, you can avoid emails going into the spam folder.
